Miami International Mall

Miami International Mall is a shopping mall in Doral, Florida in western Metropolitan Miami, and so named because it is close to Miami International Airport. It has over 140 stores including anchors Macy's, Kohl's, JC Penney and Sears. The mall is only a half-mile away from the larger outlet mall, Dolphin Mall.
Some of its 100+ stores include The Limited, Express, Victoria's Secret, The Gap, RadioShack, Payless Shoesource, The Children's Place, Hollister, and Bath and Body Works. It is managed and owned by Simon Property Group and was developed by Bruce Kaye.
From its opening in August 1982 until 2000, the mall had indoor trees, five fountains to throw pennies in (one in front of each of the anchors), a children's train, and a large cascading floor level fountain in center court. The large center fountain was shut off and sat unused through most of the 90's. It was later completely removed and the circular space was used for cart vendors.
In 2000, the mall underwent a huge renovation and celebrated its "Grand re-opening" in 2001, with an international (hence the name of the mall) theme. The renovation included removing its old features (the trees, fountains, etc.), and making it a more modern and upscale mall. This renovation was similar to that done at Dadeland Mall. Both Dadeland Mall and Miami International Mall were acquired by Simon Malls in the early 2000s.
Anchor stores include JCPenney, two Macy's stores (formerly Jordan Marsh and Burdines), Sears, and Kohl's, which opened in 2011〔http://www.bizjournals.com/southflorida/news/2011/10/13/miami-international-adding-three-stores.html〕 in a building previously occupied by Lord & Taylor, Mervyns, and Dillard's.
